Kai’s Fine Art Print Shop
Make it yours!
This print shop is operated by Pixel Bureau Pte Ltd, Kai Hartmann's Singapore-based photography company.
The Print shop:
Some photographs are made for clients. Others are made for keeps. This shop exists for the second kind — images from fifteen years of working across Asia Pacific that deserved more than a hard drive. Each print in this collection is rooted in automotive culture — the shapes, the light, the details that only reveal themselves when you slow down and really look. They are offered here in strictly limited editions, produced to the highest archival standard, for those who want to live with the work on their walls.
The Printing Process
These prints are produced using giclée printing — the fine art standard adopted by museums, galleries, and serious collectors worldwide. The word giclée comes from the French gicler, meaning to spray, referring to the process by which microscopic droplets of ink are laid onto the paper with extraordinary precision.
Printing is handled by my trusted print studio, producing at 2880 x 1440 DPI using an 11-ink ultra-wide colour gamut system. The result is a tonal range, shadow depth, and colour accuracy that goes far beyond what standard photographic printing can achieve. The studio operates production facilities in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Germany — your order is fulfilled from whichever facility is closest to your delivery address, minimising transit time and environmental impact.
Every print in this shop is produced and shipped carbon neutrally. My print studio operates a fully carbon neutral production and delivery process across all three of its facilities.
The Paper
Hahnemühle has been manufacturing paper since 1584, making it one of the oldest papermakers in the world. Their Photo Rag 308gsm is the benchmark cotton rag paper for fine art photography. It is a 100% cotton paper with a smooth matte surface, acid-free and manufactured to archival standards, meeting the highest benchmarks for colour density, colour gamut, graduation, and image sharpness — while preserving the tactile quality of genuine art paper.
Hahnemühle papers are extremely resistant to ageing and carry a life expectancy of many years. Combined with archival pigment inks, the finished print is rated for well over a century without significant colour shift under normal indoor display conditions. This is paper that outlasts the photographer.
Limited Editions
Each photograph is offered in two strictly limited editions that will never be reprinted once closed.
40 × 60 cm (15.7 × 23.6 in) edition is limited to 80 prints — an accessible format that brings the work into any space without compromise.
70 × 100 cm (27.6 × 39.4 in) Collector's Edition is limited to 50 prints — for those who want the image at its full scale and presence. The smaller edition size reflects a deliberate commitment to scarcity and long-term value.
Edition numbers are assigned strictly in order of purchase. The two editions are independent of one another. Once a number is gone, it is gone permanently.
Certificate of Authenticity
Every print ships with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity issued by the photographer. The certificate records the image title, edition size, and your unique edition number — the permanent record of your print's place within the edition. It should be kept alongside the work.
Our Certificates
Shipping & Framing
All prints are carefully rolled and shipped in a rigid protective tube — the safest method for transporting fine art prints internationally. Frames are intentionally not included. Shipping framed works across borders carries a significant risk of damage in transit, and a frame is ultimately a personal choice that should suit both the image and the space it lives in.
We recommend taking your print to a trusted local framing specialist. A good framer will advise on archival mounting, UV-protective glazing, and a frame profile that suits the work. The result will be far better than anything that could survive a long-distance shipment.

Returns & Exchanges
Because every print is produced individually to order, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges for change of mind. If your print arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 7 days of receipt at hello@pixelbureau.net with your order number and photographs of the issue. We will arrange a replacement promptly.
Buy Direct, Support the Artist
When you purchase a print from this shop, your order goes directly to the photographer. There are no galleries, agents, or retail markups involved — only my trusted print studio, who handle production and fulfilment. Every sale directly supports the work and makes the next project possible. Thank you for that.
Don't See the Image You're Looking For?
The prints available in this shop represent a curated selection of my work. If you have come across one of my photographs elsewhere — in a book, on social media, or at an exhibition — and would like it as a fine art print, get in touch directly at hello@pixelbureau.net or info@kai-hartmann.net. I can arrange a custom print to the same archival standard, discuss sizing and edition options, and handle shipping personally. Some of the best pieces on people's walls started with exactly that kind of conversation.
